Case Studies

Built on FlashDev. Shipped at scale.

See how engineering teams across live sports, gaming, media, and enterprise are using FlashDev to build infrastructure that performs under pressure.

Live Sports Broadcasting

Delivering 4K live sport to 2M concurrent viewers at sub-8ms latency.

Apex Sports Network migrated their entire live production stack to FlashDev ahead of a major international tournament. The result: zero dropped frames across 14 simultaneous broadcast feeds, 2M peak concurrent viewers, and a 60% reduction in encoding infrastructure cost.

The challenge

Apex was running a patchwork of legacy broadcast hardware and cloud encoding services that couldn't scale reliably above 800k concurrent viewers. Frame drops during peak moments were causing viewer churn and advertiser complaints.

The solution

FlashDev replaced the entire ingest-to-delivery chain: multi-source ingest via the Live Video API, GPU-accelerated compositing for graphics overlays, and HLS/WebRTC adaptive delivery through the global CDN. The AI Core handled real-time noise reduction and upscaling from 1080p source feeds to 4K output.

"FlashDev is the only platform that let us scale from 800k to 2M viewers overnight without a single engineering incident."

AAA Game Development

128Hz multiplayer at global scale for a 40M player launch.

Orbital Games used FlashDev's game development stack to power the multiplayer backend for their flagship title launch. 40M players on day one, 128Hz tick rate maintained across all regions, and AI-driven NPC behaviour that shipped on time.

The challenge

Orbital's in-house multiplayer infrastructure couldn't sustain 128Hz tick rates beyond 50k concurrent players per region. NPC AI was running on a separate inference cluster with 80ms round-trip latency — too slow for the game's real-time combat system.

The solution

FlashDev's game server hosting replaced the in-house cluster with auto-scaling dedicated servers across 18 regions. The AI Core's co-located inference eliminated the NPC round-trip entirely — inference now runs on the same node as the game server, at under 6ms.

"Co-located AI inference was the unlock. We went from 80ms NPC latency to under 6ms without changing a line of game code."

Digital Publishing & Content

Aggregating 200+ content sources into a single normalised delivery layer.

Meridian Media Group operates 40+ digital properties across news, entertainment, and sport. FlashDev's content aggregation layer replaced a fragile custom ETL pipeline, cutting content ingestion latency from 4 hours to under 3 minutes and improving AI classification accuracy to 97.4%.

The challenge

Meridian's editorial teams were working with a 4-hour content lag caused by a brittle ETL pipeline that required manual intervention for 15% of ingestion jobs. AI tagging accuracy was below 80%, leading to miscategorised content and poor recommendation quality.

The solution

FlashDev's aggregation engine connected all 200+ source feeds through pre-built connectors, with the AI Core handling classification, tagging, and metadata enrichment in real time. The unified search API gave editorial teams a single interface across all properties.

"We went from a 4-hour content lag to 3 minutes. Our editorial teams stopped firefighting and started publishing."
